Hutoupi is the largest reservoir in Taiwan. In order to promote healthy leisure activities and help remove foreign fish species from the reservoir, a fishing competition was held for the third consecutive year. The event was well received by all walks of life. The Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau held the "2024 Hutoupi Water and Green - Lure Pole Environmentally Friendly Fishing Competition and Parent-Child Fishing Promotion Event" in Hutoupi today (11/17), which attracted 300 fishing experts from across the country to participate. Fishing enthusiasts in Tainan, as well as fishing experts from Taipei City, New Taipei City, Keelung City, Taitung County and even Kinmen County and Penghu County on the outer islands, participated. At the scene, Director Lin Guohua of the Tainan City Government’s Tourism Bureau, Tainan City Council Member Ying Aida, and many representatives from the Public Opinion Representative Service Office and the presidents and directors-general of local associations came to participate in the grand event.

Mayor Huang Weizhe said that in order to promote lure fishing, the Tourism and Tourism Bureau specially invited fishing expert Ake from the YT channel "Yu Le Shuang Bao" to give his own experience and share the first lesson for newbies in lure fishing, including the use of artificial baits. After a morning of competition, Liao Jialong, a fishing expert from Pingtung, finally won the championship. Director Lin Guohua of the Tourism Bureau said that this year's event will continue to promote "lure fishing" last year.
