The Tainan City Government launched the "Tainan Double-Decker Bus Food Truck Series Experience Activities", where you can put food on a double-decker bus and follow it around. It combines experiential activities, local reading, etc. to have an in-depth exploration of the scenery of various places. The first event starts with the first-of-its-kind "Blind Box Tour", which allows visitors to unpack Tainan step by step, just like unboxing a blind box.
Mayor Huang Weizhe said that the special "blind box tour" has two major themes: "Salt Field Food Tour" and "Ocean Food Tour", combining the scenery of Tainan's coastal area, seafood delicacies, experience activities, etc., and specially invites a mysterious guest - a well-known artist Teacher Yang Shiyi made a surprise appearance, leading visitors to experience paper-cutting, and also shared the creation stories of artistic installations such as Big Fish’s Blessing and Tree of Life. The tour schedule is full of surprises, delicious and fun, and you can also take home your own paper-cut works and beautiful memories of Tainan!
Lin Guohua, director of the Tourism Bureau, said that this series of tours uses a painted version of a double-decker bus as a means of transportation to arrange different themed tours with the best high-altitude views. The first blind box tour "Yantian Food Tour" came to the Yanxiang B&B in Beimen District, where they tasted gout-worthy seafood meals and made DIY productions such as salt-baked eggs, salt-baked shrimps, braised tofu puddings, and colorful salt shakers. Ride a bicycle to visit the Jingzaijiao tile-pan salt field, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the salt field and listen to local stories along the way. The second "Ocean Food Tour" went to Annan District, and walked slowly from Lu'ermen Tianhou Temple to Mazu Temple Jiukuacuo Ecological Park. Wearing a frog costume and personally experienced the life of a fisherman for a day, engaging in catching fish, counting fry, and throwing nets , rowing bamboo rafts, catching fish and shrimps and other agricultural activities, enjoy a crab dinner after work, and fully feel the hard work and joy of the fishermen.
