According to a survey by Chunghwa Telecom, the 2024 Taiwan Lantern Festival alone brought 15.2 million visitors to Tainan and created more than 24.7 billion yuan in tourism output value. Statistics from the Ministry of Finance also show that Tainan’s tourism and accommodation industry sales hit a record high in 2023. The historical high of 12.8 billion shows that the trend of Tainan's tourism industry continues to grow. In 2022, a total of 45 professional drivers completed the training and were awarded completion certificates. This has increased to 52 in 2023. They hope to complete the training this year. The number of people can be increased further, so that more tourists can enjoy Tainan’s high-quality reception services. On April 4 this year, the Tainan-Thailand charter flight made its maiden flight. Thai tourists are very interested in Tainan. The Bureau also organized welcome and pick-up activities to express a warm welcome on behalf of Tainan citizens and let Thai tourists feel Tainan’s friendly and hospitable customs. In order to cope with the increase in Thai tourists visiting Tainan, this year, in addition to the original English, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese courses, a basic Thai language course has been added to help professional drivers learn more languages and use them in reception services for tourists.
