Tainan City is a gender-friendly tourist city. The Tourism and Tourism Bureau held a press conference today to promote the "Tainan City Gender-Friendly Hotels". Mayor Huang Weizhe pointed out that Tainan people are warm and hospitable, with a variety of accommodation types, coupled with the unique historical and cultural district style. At this "Tainan City Gender-Friendly Accommodation" marketing press conference, the Tourism Bureau invited Tainan's legal accommodation industry to join the ranks of gender-friendly accommodation to provide domestic and foreign tourists with more friendly accommodation options. Tainan City’s tourism and accommodation industry has 30 hotels and 46 B&Bs that have joined the “free provision of female menstrual products”, totaling 76 hotels; 32 hotels and 52 B&Bs are willing to apply to be “gender-friendly hotels”, totaling 84 hotels.
The concept of gender-friendliness can distinguish between physical and psychological aspects. The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association) is committed to promoting and supporting everyone regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sexual characteristics, and enjoy free and equal human rights. In recent years, "LGBTQIA" has been more widely included: "Q" Questioning people who are confused about their gender identity; or people who refuse to accept the traditional gender dichotomy (Genderqueer/Queer), "I" intersex people, and "A" can refer to asexual or straight allies who support homosexuality.
Lin Guohua, director of the Tainan City Tourism Bureau, said that Tainan hotels and B&Bs have their own characteristics and can meet the needs of different tourists. There are 156 high-quality hotels and B&Bs in Tainan City, 158 certified by the B&B Business Convention, and environmentally friendly hotels plus environmentally friendly hotels. There are 154 bicycle-friendly hotels and 438 bicycle-friendly hotels. There are also senior, barrier-free and pet-friendly hotels to choose from.
