Tainan’s food continues to be recognized! The international food evaluation magazine "Michelin Guide" recently announced the newly selected restaurants in March. A total of two restaurants in Tainan were included in the list, namely Hara Peko in the Central and Western District and Wenba Goose in the North District. It shows that Tainan's good taste is appreciated by food experts. With affirmation, the city government will continue to work with industry operators to strive for more Tainan delicacies to be included in the list.
Tainan Mayor Huang Weizhe said that after two restaurants in Tainan were selected for Michelin in January this year (2013), two new restaurants were added to the list in March. The goose snacks, which include exquisite French Japanese cuisine and decades of experience, have been recognized by Michelin. Tainan has a total of 36 Bib Gourmand and 24 selected restaurants, and a total of 60 gourmet restaurants have been recognized by Michelin. It’s Tainan 400, and there are endless exciting activities. Lin Guohua, director of the Tourism Bureau, said that "Hara Peko" opened in the artistic Snail Alley last year. The dishes are French and Japanese-style set meals made by reservation. The menu changes every month, and sake wines that match the style of the meals are provided. Single, Michelin reviewers specifically mentioned that the restaurant has a simple and warm layout, with seats in front of the open kitchen, where you can see the chef preparing the dishes. "Wenpa Goose" all uses isothermal geese that have been raised for 90 to 100 days. The salted goose is a must-try signature. It is cooked in salted water and then quickly chilled to seal the gravy. The goose rice is made of Tainan back wall rice with fresh goose meat, shredded bamboo shoots and homemade Crispy goose fat and onion, salty and delicious.
