In order to build an international tourist city and improve the quality of Tainan's friendly tourism services, the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau will continue to launch the "2023 Tainan Tourist Drivers Foreign Language and Tourism Training Program" this year (112) to plan foreign language practices, international etiquette reception skills and innovations Services and other courses are provided to train sightseeing bus drivers, taxi operators and passenger car rental operators in this city, and provide opportunities for further training in sightseeing transportation driving.
Tainan Mayor Huang Weizhe said that a complete public transportation system is the basis for tourism services. The Tainan City Government team has been committed to improving the public transportation system for many years so that domestic and foreign tourists can easily reach various places in Tainan. In addition to the public transportation system, many international tourists also choose taxis or minivan charters with greater freedom to move around. Therefore, we have also specially promoted this plan to taxi operators and car dealers, hoping to take into account the quality of sightseeing for all tourists.
Director Lin Guohua of the Tainan City Government’s Tourism Bureau said that in last year’s training program, a total of 45 trainees were certified, and the number of drivers who completed the training in 112 years has grown to 52. In addition to English, Japanese and Korean, the training course content is designed to cater to foreign language services for Vietnamese tourists. In order to meet the demand, Vietnamese reception courses have been specially added to help professional drivers learn more language applications and be prepared to respond to the needs of international passengers and provide high-quality services.
Teacher Ye Naihui from the Tourism Management Department of Kunshan University of Science and Technology, the organizer, said that we arranged a total of 5 days and 36 hours of training courses from July to September. In addition to the introduction of general basic foreign languages and related official self-study resources, the lecturers of each foreign language course also Leading foreign students to serve as foreign language teaching assistants, sharing travel experiences in Taiwan and related boarding situations, assisting students in dialogue exercises and giving feedback, and providing training drivers with how to deal with foreign tourists. The students responded enthusiastically during the class and also expressed the same after the class.
