China Airlines decided to offer direct flights between Tainan and Hong Kong on a daily basis starting on March 30, 2014 to meet the demand that has been growing since the direct flight route was established on July 18, 2013. This flight route is of great significance to Tainan as its first international flight route. In addition to the increase in the number of flights, the airline plans to conduct a promotion to attract potential travelers in Hong Kong and Macau.

Amid the high anticipation of the 2014 Taiwan International Orchid Show, Tainan, China Airlines, the orchid production industry and Hong Kong tourism industry will collaborate together in the Happy Flight Orchid Chanson Program. Foreign travelers departing from the Tainan Airport can receive an orchid (limited quantity of 500), valued at 168 HKD, by presenting his or her passport and customs form at an orchid-shaped counter after arriving in Hong Kong.

China Airlines is dedicating its efforts to promoting the flight route between these two regions. It offered discounted tickets to passengers traveling in pairs (saving of 580 HKD, tax not included) for flights from Hong Kong to Tainan as a way to draw more people to Tainan. Passengers departing from Tainan were offered 3,600 new Taiwan dollar discount (approx. 900 HKD, tax not included) for a limited time.

China Airlines is also providing 10% discount coupons to passengers purchasing a round trip ticket between Tainan and Hong Kong that can be used at the stores of Tung Tung International Enterprise (food and beverage company) in Tainan from March to June. In addition, passengers can present their Tainan-Hong Kong flight ticket and passport at Black Bridge Food in Tainan or Hong Kong to receive a 10% discount on hand-wrapped products, and receive a barbecued sausage at the Sausage Museum after participating in one of its DIY programs.

The Tourism Board of the Transportation Department of Hong Kong will provide a tourism card, valued at 100 new Taiwan dollars, to 1,000 people traveling to Tainan on China Airlines on a first-come, first-served basis starting this March. On the other hand, Tainan City will provide a travel guide book (950 copies available) to a deluxe tour user traveling from Hong Kong to Tainan starting this March, and offer 50% discounts (1+1 deals) on guestroom charges at three 5-star hotels in the city from March to June.
