In order for Tainan City to become the city that has the largest number of tourism factories in Taiwan, the Tainan City Tourism Factory Promotion and Development Association has formulated the “Prefecture City/Factory Photo Journey” program to attract tourists. The Association has entered the booming tourism market in full force with four major travel themes: health preservation, handicrafts, food tasting and happy living, so as to stimulate the tourism industry in Tainan and actively extend this business opportunity in tourism.

The chairman of the Tainan City Tourism Factory Promotion and Development Association, Shih-Hao Jhuang, points out that traditional industries in Tainan have transformed into “tourism factories” one after another as the tourism industry in Tainan and the trend toward tourism in global industries have developed. He hopes to integrate industry, education, economy and local culture with cultural innovation and tourism to create tourism factories that feature unique industry characteristics, history and culture, and educational values. In addition to bringing a new wave of tourists, these factories will establish a blue ocean for the sustainable operation of traditional industries.

Shih-Hao Jhuang stresses that the number of tourism factories in Tainan has increased. Before the city became a municipality, there were 5 tourism factories. To date, 8 more tourism factories have been established after they successfully passed accreditation under guidance. There are a total of 13 tourism factories at present. Among them, the Li Kang Chinese Herbs Industrial and Cultural Hall and Taiwan Metal Creation Museum are excellent tourism factories. Currently, guidance is being provided to another 12 companies. It is expected that a total of 25 tourism factories can be reached within 1 to 2 years, making Tainan City a city that has the largest number of tourism factories in Taiwan.

The tourism factories to be established in the future include the Cadozea Good Food Story Museum in Houbi District, the Tian Yi Chinese Medicine Life and Culture Park in Guantian District, the Taiwan Herbal Tourism Factory and the Taiwan Jih Pao Milkfish Tourism Factory in Jiali District, the Her Min Textile Cultural Museum and Cheerful Fashion Goods in Annan District, and the Hong Tai Aqua Gel World in Rende District.

The Association will work with the Bureau of Economic Development and the Tourism Bureau of the Tainan City Government to jointly launch the “Prefecture City/Factory Photo Journey” program in order to promote the tourism factories in Tainan City and implement the plan of increasing the number of tourists. Links to the sites of the tourism factories can be found on the map of Tainan and these are being coordinated with the Greater Tainan bus service to reach the goal of low-carbon green energy travel. In addition to offering preferential packages for those taking a bus, the program provides discounts on visiting and shopping in various tourism factories in Tainan City. If you take photos of these tourism factories and upload them to Facebook, you will be given a limited edition exquisite gift.
