　From March 30 onwards, China Airlines will fly between Tainan and Hong Kong on a daily basis. The flights depart from Tainan at 2:00 every afternoon and take off from Hong Kong at 11:35 every morning. This new schedule will bring great benefits to tourists and travel agencies in both destinations.
　China Airlines began to offer regular flights between Tainan and Hong Kong in mid-July last year. The flight schedule was 2:20 to 3:50 p.m. for Hong Kong-bound flights from Tainan and 11:40 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Tainan-bound flights from Hong Kong every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
　Since December 28 last year, the number of flights has increased from three round-trip flights to five round-trip flights every week. The new flights scheduled every Wednesday and Saturday depart from Tainan at 5:00 p.m. and arrive in Hong Kong at 6:20 p.m.; for the flights from Hong Kong to Tainan, the take-off time is 2:00 p.m. and the arrival time is 3:30 p.m.
　Bo-Rong Wang, manager of the Tainan Branch Office of China Airlines, stated that airline companies adjust their timetables for the summer season on March 30. However, the route between Tainan and Hong Kong is the only international route that operates on a regular basis in Tainan, and China Airlines expects to achieve certain operational results so that this route can benefit more residents in Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan. Therefore, flights will be launched daily for the route between Tainan and Hong Kong starting on March 30, and the departure times will be consolidated to enhance convenience.
　Right now it is the lean travel season before the Lunar New Year, and hotel room rates in Hong Kong have risen due to seasonal adjustments. In order to stimulate bookings, China Airlines has launched special ticket offers for flights that take off every Wednesday and Saturday. Round-trip tickets between Tainan and Hong Kong cost only $4800 plus the tax of $2500 when you book online. The total airfare is $7300, which is $2000 or so less than regular airfare.
　Shih-Chang Lin, chairman of Perfect Match International Travel Agency, expressed his appreciation of the daily flights between Tainan and Hong Kong offered by China Airlines. As for the early schedule for flights from Hong Kong, Lin stressed that China Airlines now offers four flights between Kaohsiung and Hong Kong on a daily basis. In addition to departing from and returning to Tainan, passengers may choose to leave from Tainan and return to Kaohsiung, Taichung or Taipei. Such options will provide more flexibility in choice of time and enable relatively rich and diverse itineraries.
