The 2014 Beijing Book Fair, a trial balloon for the publishing industry in China, opened at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing on January 9. Dr. Cheng-Kun Wang, the head of the Tainan Medical Association, attended the fair in person on January 10 to deliver a speech at the launch of his new book Medical Cosmetology and Skin Care. In the speech, he promoted medical tourism in Taiwan and a correct understanding of medical cosmetology.

Over 500,000 types of books were displayed in the Beijing Book Fair by about 860 participating exhibitors and vendors. The Taihai Publishing House and Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League helped Dr. Cheng-Kun Wang publish the simplified Chinese version of his new book about medical cosmetology, and the news center of the Book Fair arranged the launch of his new book Medical Cosmetology and Skin Care as well as a meeting for him and his readers. These events successfully promoted the exchange of medical information between people on both sides of the Straits.
