TAITRA organized a Taiwan medical service industry delegation to Vietnam. It hosted a lecture on the topic of "Creating a Healthy and Beautiful Life with Taiwan Medical Care" yesterday afternoon. Taiwan's representative in Vietnam, Chih-peng Huang, was invited and attended the lecture.

Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) organized a Taiwan medical service industry delegation to Vietnam. The delegation hosted a lecture on the topic of "Creating a Healthy and Beautiful Life with Taiwan Medical Care"in Hanoi on October 20. About 100 Taiwanese businesspeople and overseas Taiwanese attended the lecture. Taiwan's representative in Vietnam, Chih-peng Huang, was invited and attended the lecture.
TAITRA took on this year's "Internationalized Medical Service and Image Promotion Project" from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. From October 17 to 21 it organized the above mentioned medical service delegation to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Vietnam to promote the excellent quality of Taiwan's medical tourism services.
The medical service delegation to Vietnam that was organized by TAITRA consisted of operators and representatives from six high quality Taiwanese medical centers, which were Cathay General Hospital, Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, Mennonite Christian Hospital, National Cheng Kung University Hospital, Tungs' Taichung Metro Harbor Hospital and Chang Bing Show Chwan Memorial Hospital. Among the members there were many famous, skilled doctors.
The lecture covered six medical care topics. The contents of the topics were diverse and comprehensive. After the lecture a medical consultation service was provided on-site. The Taiwanese businesspeople and overseas Taiwanese who attended listened attentively and spoke highly of the lecture.
The organizers commented that the purpose of hosting this lecture was to remind Taiwanese businesspeople that while they were working hard on their businesses, they should pay attention to their health as well as that of their families and friends. The organizers also would like to let more local people know about the excellent quality medical care services Taiwan offered.

Chih-peng Huang's speech highly praised the activities TAITRA had organized. He also noted that the friendship between Taiwan and Vietnam had developed rapidly. In 1992 air traffic was opened with flights between each country and both had set up economic offices. The two have formed close partnerships in the fields of finance, agriculture and fisheries, health, culture and education, science and technology among others.

He remarked that through these activities, they would enhance the profile and popularity of Taiwan's medical care services, help Taiwan's medical care industry to form alliances with the local industries, promote the development of Taiwan's medical tourism service industry and bring in overseas citizens including the Vietnamese to Taiwan for medical services.

The Vice President of Cathay General Hospital, Jheng-Hua Huang, was the head of the Taiwan medical service industry delegation to Vietnam. The delegation visited and observed medical treatment sessions in several hospitals in Vietnam and was looking for potential business cooperation opportunities. The delegation was scheduled to fly back to Taiwan this afternoon (October 21).
