In Tainan’s Xinhua District, there stands a historical building that witnesses the passage of time—Xinhua Wude Hall. Founded in 1924, this Wu De Dian has become the only authentic example of Wu De Dian in Taiwan with its three unique architectural structures—spring wooden floors, bull’s-eye windows and cypress rain panels, showing the architecture of the past. Wisdom and cultural values.

Tainan Mayor Huang Weizhe strongly recommended the historical significance and cultural value of Xinhua Wude Temple. The mayor said that Xinhua Wude Temple is not only an important cultural landmark in Tainan, but also a model of Tainan's cultural preservation. We will continue to work hard in the future to let the light of this building be seen by more people.

Director Lin Guohua of the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau pointed out that Xinhua is the gateway to Zuozhen, Yujing, Nanxi and Nanhua in Tainan City. He hopes to attract more domestic and foreign tourists through the combination of history and creativity and continue to promote Tainan’s cultural and tourism soft power.

Spring wooden floor: the craftsmanship hidden under your feet
Stepping into the Wude Hall, you will feel the unique floor design. Its spring wooden floor provided a more comfortable and safer environment for martial arts practitioners at that time. It was a shock-absorbing floor specially designed for kendo and judo. This unique craftsmanship is a blessing to martial arts practitioners and has become a highlight of today’s tourists.

Bulls-eye windows and cypress rain panels: a combination of beauty and practicality
The unique bull-eye window design on the exterior wall of Butokuden not only adds a quaint charm to the building, but also effectively introduces natural light, creating a soft and bright indoor environment. The cypress rain shower panels are famous for their functionality, showing the wisdom of the craftsmen at that time in dealing with Taiwan's humid climate. They are both strong and durable and reveal the beauty of natural architecture.

In-depth experience of culture and respect for words
Today, Xinhua Wude Hall has become a place where culture and life blend. From martial arts performances to architectural craftsmanship tours, a wealth of activities allow every traveler to feel the pulse of history. The nearby Xinhua Old Street, with its charming food and cultural and creative shops, adds more surprises and fun to the journey.

Chen Nanxiu, the volunteer leader of Xinhua Wude Hall tour guide, mentioned in the guide tips written to volunteers: "Xinhua Wude Hall retains three architectural structures that other Wude Halls do not have, including: spring wooden floor , bull’s-eye windows, and cypress rain panels make Xinhua Wude Hall an authentic Wude Hall.” Captain Chen Nanxiu said that Xinhua Wude Hall has become an important landmark of the cultural park, and everyone is welcome to visit it. As a historical building, the Wude Hall tour guide volunteer team will provide free tours within half an hour. If you want an in-depth tour of more than half an hour, please contact Captain Chen at 06-5902192 or 0939592566 to make an appointment.
